Why I Chose Croatia and Greece, Round Trip from Rome?
Most Mediterranean itineraries ask you to choose between Italy, Greece and Croatia. This one visits all three, plus Montenegro, and you unpack once. Starting and ending in Rome also keeps the logistics simple, and a night or two in the city on either side turns the cruise into a longer trip.
I am writing an article (coming soon) on how the stops fit together, which ports I would plan the big days around, and who this sailing suits best.
Questions I get asked
-
No. This is a regular Celebrity sailing, and the group simply reserves cabins at a set price with planning support from me. You explore each port on your own schedule, eat when and where you like, and spend your days at sea however you want. There are no required group activities.
-
The starting price covers your stateroom, main dining, onboard entertainment, taxes and fees. For every guest in this group it also includes the Classic Beverage Package, Wi-Fi and a port-by-port shore day guide. The Classic Beverage Package covers beer, wine by the glass, cocktails, soft drinks and specialty coffee, with some limits that I will walk you through. Flights, excursions and hotels before or after the cruise are extra.
-
I recommend arriving at least one day before July 16, so a delayed flight or lost bag never puts your sailing at risk. A night or two in Rome beforehand also lets you recover from the flight and see the city. The ship leaves from Civitavecchia, about 80 km from Rome, and most guests use a pre-arranged transfer from the airport or their hotel. I can help with flights, hotels and transfers once your cabin is reserved.
-
Not before you reserve your cabin. Once your cruise is confirmed, I help you choose and set up the ones you want. The most popular, such as Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast from Naples or tours in Dubrovnik, can fill up, so I suggest planning those a few months ahead.
-
Yes, some ports are easy to enjoy independently, such as Corfu, Katakolon and Split's Old Town. If you go on your own, you need to be back by the all-aboard time, usually 30 to 60 minutes before departure, and the ship will not wait. If you miss it, getting to the next port is at your own expense. Excursions booked through the cruise line are timed to return you to the ship, which is a big reason many guests choose them for the longer outings.
-
July is warm to hot and sunny, and popular stops like Dubrovnik get busy. I plan the big outings for early morning, leave the afternoons for shade, a long lunch or the ship, and the two sea days give you real breaks. Several ports have cobblestones, steps and hills, so comfortable walking shoes matter. Tell me how active you like to be and I will suggest the right mix for each port. Churches and cathedrals usually ask for covered shoulders and knees, so pack a light scarf or shirt.
-
It can be, with some planning. Celebrity offers youth programs onboard, and I will confirm the age groups and hours for this sailing. The ports lean toward history, walking and long days, so I help pick outings that suit your kids' ages, such as a beach afternoon in Corfu or Katakolon instead of another museum.
-
The deposit is $960 CAD per stateroom, and the deadline to reserve your cabin is February 9, 2027. Final payment is due April 10, 2027.
-
Cancellation terms depend on the fare type you book. I'll explain your options clearly before you commit to anything.
-
Yes, a valid passport is required. Entry rules, including any new European travel authorization requirements, can change before 2027, so I will confirm what applies to you closer to departure.
